On August 9, 2014, Borealis Council was officially granted to be under dispensation with the Allied Masonic Degrees Grand Council of Canada.

On August 23, 2014, the new council held its first meeting at the Fort Edmonton Park Masonic Temple, conducting the St. Lawrence the Martyr Degree for two brethren.

Membership in any AMD council is by invitation to Royal Arch Masons.

Borealis Council  meets on the 4th Saturday in the Summer months of June, July, and August with a celebration on St. John the Evangelist Day (Dec. 27).   Meetings are chartered to take place in Edmonton, Kingman, Seba Beach or Yellowstone, Alberta.

The focus of the Council is two-fold:

1.  To confer the Supplementary Degrees of Excellent Master, Masters of Tyre, Architect, Grand Architect, and Superintendent.

2.  To conduct research, explore and discuss the hidden mysteries of nature.
